Denim & Diamonds: A Design Presentation & Celebration Fundraiser
The Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library are proud to present Denim & Diamonds: A Design Presentation & Celebration, a special fundraising event supporting programs and resources for library patrons of all ages. Proceeds from this event help make beloved offerings possible, including 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Story Time, STEM programming, Pokémon and LEGO clubs, the Summer Reading Program, the Antrim Writers Series, the Bike Mobile, and more—covering everything from supplies and snacks to essential program expenses.
Join us on April 16 for an unforgettable evening hosted by our friends at Ethanology. For $30 per ticket, guests will enjoy a fun and festive night filled with style, community, and an update from Pam Williams on the progress of the project.
Dress in your favorite denim and add a touch of sparkle—diamonds encouraged, whether real or faux! The evening will feature a special presentation revealing the stunning new library design from Quinn Evans, along with a unique opportunity to see and experience the actual materials and design elements that will bring the space to life.
Stay to mix and mingle while enjoying delicious snacks, craft drinks, and great company as we celebrate the vision of a true “Library for Everybody.” Don’t miss this chance to be part of an exciting step forward for our community!
Giving Tuesday 2025
This year, we’re especially proud to highlight 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a joyful initiative that helps families build strong reading habits from the very beginning.
With literacy rates declining across Michigan, programs like this are more important than ever. Thanks to community support, families in our district enjoy free access to books, story times, and encouragement — giving every child the best possible start.
A Library for Everybody: Millage Vote!
August 5: Vote YES for the Library for Everybody millage! Your support will help give the Elk Rapids Community the library building and services they’ve been asking for.
Traverse City Horse Shows Charity Ticket Program
Witness World-Class Horse Jumping & Support the Elk Rapids Library!
Traverse City Horse Shows have a long history of supporting the community, and on June 22 ALL PROCEEDS from the $15 admission price will go to the Friends to help support the Elk Rapids District Library's new building campaign!
The show starts at 2 p.m., and tickets are $15 per person (buy online now or at the gate). We'll be there early selling tickets, sharing information, and hosting a special craft for the day.

As Giving Tuesday approaches, the Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library would like you to consider adding a donation to the Friends to your year-end giving plans.

Join the Friends for a night out to enjoy the autumn air, a taste of northern Michigan, and -- as always -- to support the Elk Rapids District Library!
$25 per person, includes light appetizers.

Join the Friends as we kick off our fundraising efforts for “1000 Books Before Kindergarten,” a program designed to promote reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers while encouraging parents and children to bond through reading. To do that in Elk Rapids, the library needs more books for those age groups.
All proceeds raised from Fall, Flannel & Friends will go toward “1000 Books Before Kindergarten.”
